Thanks to all of our speakers, sponsors, staff, and attendees for making TechBash 2019 a huge success! While we had to skip 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, we plan on making the 2022 event safe and enjoyable for all. We can't wait to see you in November, 2022!
Due to the ongoing concerns of safety for our attendees, speakers, sponsors, and families, we've made the difficult decision to postpone TechBash yet again.
Last year, TechBash 2020 faced a similar fate as we were forced to cancel due to the ongoing threat of the pandemic. As organizers, we've spent a good deal of time talking with participants in TechBash 2021 and with organizers of regional events to better understand their concerns and to collect suggestions for our event. After spending time discussing, we felt that we could not offer an event that would create a safe environment for participants in the conference. Our decision was made easier when we had heard the news that the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA would be cancelled and that beginning on September 7th, all students in public and private schools across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are required to wear a mask.
If you have purchased a ticket for the event, your purchase will be refunded. If you have booked a room at the Kalahari, you can either continue to stay at the discounted rate or you can cancel your room. To cancel, you can visit Passkey, the online registration system, or you could call the call center at 877-525-2427.
We do have some good news. We will be back at the Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center in Pocono Manor, PA next year. Additional details for TechBash 2022 will be announced soon. We are excited to see each and every one of you in person in 2022 and hope by then we've contained the virus and eliminated pandemic concerns.
Many of you have been asking when tickets will be available. We have some good news. Early Bird tickets are now available for TechBash 2021!
If you want to save up to 20% on TechBash tickets for you and your team, the Early Bird ticket sail is available through midnight EDT on August 14th (or until they sell out). Please tell your friends! We want to make this the biggest, most diverse TechBash developer conference yet.
Last February (2020), the organizers of TechBash were in the midst of planning their 5th straight regional software and web developer conference. We all felt that we were ahead of the game and making great strides to make our event even better than previous years. However, the event never took place due to the pandemic that caught nearly everyone by surprise.
Today we'd like to announce that TechBash will return to the Pocono Mountains in October. Our goal is to host a safe and enjoyable conference for all. We are hopeful and optimistic that the wide-spread effects of COVID-19 will continue to diminish over time. As we approach the event, if we feel that our attendees, sponsors, presenters, colleagues and friends will be placed in harms way or will not have an enjoyable time, we will reconsider the 2021 event.
We will be sharing additional information in the weeks ahead including the opening date for registration. For now, save the date, continue to be safe, and get ready for the return of one of the best regional conferences around, TechBash 2021.

Over the past several months, the world has been dealing with COVID-19. Many in person events have either been cancelled or moved to a virtual format only. The organizers of TechBash has spent significant time discussing TechBash 2020. We're fortunate enough to have a venue, Kalahari Resorts, that is willing to work with us.
After much deliberation, we are cancelling our in-person TechBash 2020 conference. We would like to announce that we'll be back at the Kalahari Resorts and Convention Center in Pocono Manor, PA from October 19-22, 2021. We're excited to see you all in person in 2021.
Last month we published another awesome session from TechBash 2019. Subscribe to our YouTube page so you'll be notified of all the great new content from TechBash every year.
Zero to Eighty: Getting Your Testing Initiative Off the Line
Nicole Tibaldi
Just over a year ago, my team’s frontend codebase lacked any meaningful test coverage. Our release process was painful, requiring us to complete nearly one hundred manual QA steps to give us even the smallest amount of confidence that new features didn’t break existing functionality. Now, our tests are automated, fast, stable, and nobody complains about having to write them! As I recount the tale of how I became the team’s “test captain” and led us to testing bliss, you’ll learn about mistakes we made, how we changed course when needed, the milestones we achieved, and some general dos and don’ts for creating better habits within your team.
